Shakil Quayes has 17 years of research experience in economic development, financial markets, food and labor policy, microfinance, rural-urban migration, and sustainable urban development. In addition to publishing papers in academic journals, he has reviewed microfinance funding applications for Rolex Institute in Geneva and assisted the Institute of Microfinance in Dhaka with its Access to Financial Services in Bangladesh Survey. His list of expertise includes cost-benefit analysis of sustainable planning, economic impact analysis, financial regulations, forecasting demand, product market analysis, and quantitative analysis of government policies.

Shakil Quayes obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently an associate professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
